She received her medical degree (Alpha Omega Alpha) and was a Regents Scholar at the University of California San Francisco School of Medicine. Do was educated at the University of California at Berkeley where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cellular Biology. In addition, she was Program Director of the ophthalmology residency training program and Director of the Retinal Fellowship Training Program at Nebraska.ĭr. After her tenure at Johns Hopkins, she was recruited to serve as Vice Chair of Education and Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. At Hopkins, she was Head of the Retina Fellowship Training Program and she conducted cutting edge research to develop more effective therapies for diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. Do was Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Furthermore, she has directed and participated in many continuing medical education courses for ophthalmologists and retina specialists throughout the United States and abroad.īefore joining Stanford, Dr.
She has been an invited lecturer throughout the North and South America, Europe, and Asia. She has over 15 years of experience in leading clinical trials for retinal and ocular diseases. She has been the principal investigator and co-investigator on more than 45 clinical trials investigating novel treatments for retinal diseases and ocular inflammation. Do is a leading surgeon-scientist who has authored over 150 publications in the medical literature and has contributed to over 25 book chapters. She has been selected as a "Top Doctor" in the Bay Area, and she has been voted as one of the "100 Top Women in Ophthalmology" in the Ophthalmologist Power List.ĭr. Her goal is to provide the highest level of care for each patient. She incorporates state-of-the-art treatment options for her patients while treating each individual with compassion and dignity. Do is a board-certified ophthalmologist and is an expert in the management of age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, vein occlusion, retinal detachment, macular hole, infections, cataract, and epiretinal membrane. She is an internationally recognized physician who specializes in the surgical and medical treatment of retinal disorders. In addition, she is Clinic Chief of Ophthalmology at Stanford Health Care. Do, MD, is Professor of Ophthalmology and Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs at the Byers Eye Institute, Stanford University.
